The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks to fill an Assistant Professor in Human Microbiome and nutrition Sciences position within the Department of Agriculture, Nutrition and Veterinary Sciences.
The position is for a dynamic nutritional scientist with research focuses on the application of nutritional science with an overarching goal of improving human health through dietary modulation of the gastrointestinal microbiome. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, independent, extramurally funded research program, provide excellent classroom instruction, contribute to curriculum development, advise and mentor undergrad and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and interact with a very multidisciplinary group of faculty.

- This position requires a minimum of a PhD in nutrition or a related field and demonstrated ability to conduct research in intestinal human microbiome, or microbiology.
- Additional requirements include: postdoctoral research experience, and publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- The successful candidate will have evidence of teaching experience at a college/university, evidence of securing grants, evidences of independent and collaborative research, experience supervising research personnel and advising students from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- RD and clinical nutrition experience.
