The Department of Social Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences at Shorter University invites applications for a 10-month, tenure-track criminal justice position. The successful candidate must work collegially with other faculty, and embrace the mission and vision of the department, college, and university.
Required qualifications include an earned Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in criminal justice or criminology preferred (closely related field will be considered) with experience in law enforcement or corrections. The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses in these fields, as well as introductory courses. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the college/university level and a strong record of teaching excellence.
Responsibilities may include: teaching both lower- and upper-division criminal justice courses, advising students, assessment, engaging in scholarly research/professional development, participating in university and community service, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department chair.
Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
