Opening Details: Williams College invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Alpine Skiing for the 2017-18 season. This is a full-time, academic year, 1-year term assignment with the possibility of renewal.

The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing assistance to the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including but not limited to athlete development, administrative duties, assistance with workout planning, recruiting, equipment management, travel, video and feedback on the hill, and duties as assigned by the head coach.

The core of the Williams Ski Program is the belief that the twin concepts of team and ownership will allow Ski Team members to grow as athletes and as people. The team trains primarily at Jiminy Peak – just twenty minutes from campus. The mountain has a high speed six pack chairlift, demanding terrain and a great relationship with the program. This has been one of our biggest assets. We also train at Berkshire East to add variety for the athletes. Forty minutes away, this mountain provides terrain to work on gliding and a more gradual touch on the edges. Williams has a strong track record of helping athletes improve throughout their college career.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and collegiate racing experience preferred. Successful candidates will be self-motivated and possess the ability to recruit, teach and coach highly talented student-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment; a knowledge and commitment to NCAA and NESCAC rules and effective communication skills is required.
