Primary Purpose

Teach eight sections of face-to-face and online COMM 1101: Principles of Speech and CMP 2201: Business and Professional Communication per year.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching the COMM 1101: Principles of Speech and CMP 2201: Business and Professional Communication within the parameters laid out State Board of Education and the ISU Department of Communication, Media, and Persuasion. This includes following department guidelines for major assignments and exams, evaluating student work and providing appropriate and timely feedback, maintaining academic integrity, and preparing final grades within the University’s stated time lines.

Minimum Qualifications

Master of Arts degree in Communication or related field.
Clear potential for effectiveness in university teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of effective university/college level teaching of public speaking.
Graduate coursework in Speech Communication.
Potential to teach online courses.
