The Department of History and Philosophy at the University of New England seeks a scholar of U.S. Medical History for a full-time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Lecturer, starting August 2018. The successful candidate will teach both halves of a two-semester U.S. history survey sequence, lower- and upper-division courses for history majors and non-majors, and courses in medical history that deepen the university’s strengths in the health sciences. The candidate will also contribute world civilization offerings to our undergraduate core curriculum.
Candidates should have Ph.D. in History or a related field at the start of employment; candidates with teaching experience are preferred. Preference will also be given to candidates who have the ability to engage a global perspective and who have experience with digital humanities.
