Job description

The Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing is seeking applicants for an Assistant/Associate Professor in Nursing to be based in Winchester, Virginia. Undergraduate or graduate nursing with Community Health/Adult Health specialty preferred, others considered.

This is a 9-month appointment which includes teaching in the undergraduate and possible graduate nursing program. Faculty roles may include laboratory, simulation, clinical and classroom teaching. All clinical specialties will be considered, with preference community health and adult health, maternal-child expertise.

The Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing at Shenandoah University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the Accreditation Committee for Midwifery Education (ACME), and the University is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The School of Nursing comprises approximately 500 students with programs at BSN, RN-BSN/MSN, MSN, DNP degree level and post graduate certificates, including specialty education in Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health NP, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP, Nurse Midwifery and Clinical DNP programs. The School has three physical locations, with the main campus in Winchester, VA and distance sites in Loudon County (Scholar Plaza site) and Fairfax, Virginia (INOVA Center for Personalize Health site).

Unencumbered RN license in Virginia, compact state or eligibility required. Teaching experience required, with scholarship experience preferred. Doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline required, PhD or DNP candidates will be considered.
