The Department of Communication, Media, & Theatre at Muskingum University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Digital Media Design at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, beginning Fall semester of 2018.
Primary duties of this position include: teaching undergraduate courses in convergent media, which may include broadcasting and electronic media production, mobile/web design, media law, media management, and other courses based upon the department’s needs and the candidate’s expertise; advising students’ academic and co-curricular activities, pursuing high-level scholarly or creative activity; and providing service to the local campus community.
Qualifications: A Ph. D., M.F.A., or equivalent terminal degree is required to be in hand by start of appointment. Professional experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: responsive web design, app design/development, user experience or interface design, content management systems, video production and editing. The ideal candidate will have proven experience teaching students new media production techniques with a foundation in theoretical principles and best industry practices.
Appointment to this position is conditional upon the successful completion of a background check through the University’s background check agency.
