Carson-Newman University invites applicants for an ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF COUNSELING in the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COUNSELING. The position is FULL-TIME, 11 MONTH, TENURE TRACK to begin August 2019.
Candidates for the position are required to have a completed doctorate from a CACREP accredited doctoral Counselor Education program, be licensed or license eligible as a Professional School Counselor in the state of Tennessee, be supervisor qualified, have experience working in school and or mental health settings with children, adolescents, adults, and families, have graduate teaching experience, show evidence of and/or potential for research in the field of counseling, have a commitment to the mission of the university, and have a strong dedication to social justice, diverse populations, and community service. The candidate is required to have evidence of working effectively with teams of counselors and educators to build and maintain strong counseling programs.

The selected candidate for the position of ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF COUNSELING will serve as a core faculty member of a CACREP School Counseling and CACREP Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, supervise practicum and internship students, advise students, mentor students, work as a member of a collaborative Counselor Education team, build community and regional support, conduct research activities in the area of counseling, serve as a role model for the students and counselors of the region through professional development involvement and presentations, coordinate the school counseling program and the EdS program in Collaboration and Leadership in Counseling, and serve on university committees as assigned. Other duties may be assigned.
