Job description

The Department of Business at the University of New England invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning August 20, 2018. The ideal candidate will have expertise in finance and business analytics. Join an enthusiastic, diverse and growing department of 10 faculty members and over 150 undergraduate students majoring in Business Administration (with six specialized concentrations), Sport and Recreation Management, Communications and interdisciplinary majors in Marine Entrepreneurship and Sustainability & Business.

The candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the areas of business finance, personal finance, international finance, business analytics, investments and financial markets, as well as new courses in their area(s) of interest. The candidate will also maintain an active scholarship program that engages undergraduates. Service to the university and a commitment to academic advising and student mentorship is expected.

A Ph.D. or terminal degree in finance or a related field, preferably from an AACSB or ACBSP-accredited institution, is preferred. Candidates with an M.B.A. and demonstrated professional qualifications in a finance related field will also be considered. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, a minimum of 5 years of non-academic experience in a business or non-profit organization, and exceptional communication skills. Knowledge of the northern New England business community is desirable.
