Job description

Black Hills State University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track position in 3-D Techniques and Foundations of Art as part of its Bachelor of Fine Arts and Art Education Programs.

Black Hills State University offers BFAs in Graphic Design, Photography, and Studio Art as well as a BSEd in K-12 Art Education. The course load is four classes per semester. Subjects to be taught may include Ceramics, Sculpture, 3-D Design, Design Concepts in Crafts Media, and foundations courses in studio art as necessary.

The successful applicant will have experience in (or a strong understanding of), the following:
*Sculptural techniques in additive and subtractive media.
*Ceramics techniques including firing and glaze materials.
*3-D Design
*Foundations of art, including 2-D Design

Experience in any of the following areas is also desirable:
*Installation work
*4-D Art
*3-D printing

MFA course work expected complete by August 1st 2018. Minimum of one year teaching experience and/or professional workshop level teaching experience in 3D media or related field is desired.
