Position Title: English: Assistant Professor, Moving Image Arts
Collaborate in the continuing development of a program dedicated to innovative approaches to moving image media. The successful candidate will 1) teach undergraduate digital video post-production courses in a student-centered learning environment; 2) mentor student artists and supervise senior thesis projects, required for the completion of the B.S.; 3) maintain active engagement in the field as a creative professional; 4) participate in departmental programs and activities, including academic advising and regular faculty meetings.
M.F.A. or Ph.D. required, in hand no later than July 2018. Teaching experience preferred. Recent M.F.A. graduates are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidate would demonstrate a solid record of accomplishment in filmmaking, narrative or documentary filmmaking, and media post-production. Proficiency in various aspects of film production and post-production, including but not limited to: non-linear editing with Adobe Premiere, 2D (Adobe After Effects) & 3D animation applicable to film and video color correction, digital cinematography. Secondary proficiencies preferred, such as sound production for film, sound post-production aka sound design, mixing and dialog editing, etc. Solid knowledge of screenwriting, film history and film theory a plus. The candidate will demonstrate promise of continued professional achievement in film.
