Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a full-time position of Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Management to begin February 1, 2018. The department anticipates a continued vacancy, and the successful candidate may be considered for continuation into additional years, contingent upon favorable review and the continuing needs of the College.

Required Qualifications: We seek candidates who have either an M.B.A. or M.S. in accounting, or equivalent degree plus professional certification and experience. Candidates must have demonstrated effectiveness in teaching. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and advising is essential.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience with college-level teaching. We are interested in applicants who will complement our commitment to students and faculty from diverse groups, and who will diversify the expertise and experiences represented in the department.

Major/Essential Functions: The successful candidate will teach three courses in the 2018 spring semester. In future years, the annual teaching load will be seven courses, three courses per semester plus an experiential course taught in the January term. Specific course assignments are somewhat flexible, but would include Financial Accounting and Intermediate Accounting plus at least one of the following: Advanced Accounting and Federal Taxation.
