Job description

Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA, invites applications for an assistant professorship in the Department of Hospitality Management. The position is at the main Erie campus and begins January 2019. This position is an annual appointment with the possibility of renewal. To be hired applicants must be currently eligible to work in the United States. The applicant must possess a Masters degree Hospitality or Business or related field from a regionally accredited university.

The candidate should be able to teach a variety of courses in the program including, but not limited to:

Housekeeping Operations and Management
Hospitality Marketing and Sales
Advanced Hotel Operations
Hotel Rooms Management
Promotional Strategies for Meetings and Conventions
Casino and Gaming
Club Management
Applied Service Labs

Job Summary
Successful candidates will teach a wide variety of hospitality courses as described in the Mercyhurst University catalog.at the undergraduate level. In addition to instruction, duties will include advising, curriculum development, service to the profession, and participation in department, college, and university activities. The selected candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, continued learning in their field, academic scholarship, and committee service. Other duties as assigned.
