Briar Cliff University of Iowa, an institution committed to higher education within a liberal arts and Catholic perspective, invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Kinesiology position beginning August, 2018. Candidates should possess an earned doctoral degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or a closely related field. ABD will be considered.
The department is seeking an energetic individual to teach courses in Exercise Science. The professional candidate will be enthusiastic about collaboration, working with students, and committed to program growth and student success. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching; familiarization with academic advising; scholarly productivity; commitment to service within the profession, academic, and community; experience supervising undergraduate and graduate projects and/or research; and, NSCA or ACSM certification. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses within exercise science based on their experience and expertise. Additional courses may be required to be taught within the Department and/or General Education Core curriculum of the University. The successful candidate will advise undergraduate and/or graduate students in academic programming and mentor students in projects and/or research. The successful candidate will continue to demonstrate their commitment to provide service to others and develop and/or maintain scholarly productivity (e.g., completing research projects, develop manuscripts, present scholarly products, and seek funding for research).
