The English Department in the College of Arts and Sciences at Fairfield University invites applicants for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professorship in Latinx Literature beginning in September 2019. We welcome candidates with secondary interests in Chicano/a Studies; Caribbean literature, including Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban; Latin American literature; and/or critical theory. There will be opportunities to collaborate with Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Black Studies, Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and American Studies. Applicants must have a strong commitment to pedagogical innovation and demonstrated excellence in using technology in the classroom. The potential for developing an active research program in the candidate’s area of specialization is also required.
The position requires teaching three literature courses at the undergraduate level each semester. The successful candidate will have completed the Ph.D. by the position start date, and will have demonstrated excellence in teaching.
