Creighton University’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a tenure-track position in Spanish and French beginning in August 2019. We seek applicants with a PhD in Spanish, French or closely related field, who have experience in undergraduate teaching. Candidates should demonstrate a credible research and publication trajectory. Although specialization is open, preference will be given to candidates who have an interest in community engagement, service learning, languages for special purposes, and a desire to teach at all levels of the curriculum. Course load is 2/3 in Spanish and 1/3 in French.

Qualifications:
A Doctorate or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university;
2-4 years prior teaching experience;

Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;
Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;
Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications
