Teach undergraduate courses in special education, and supervise field experiences in special education K-12
Pursue scholarly activities in publishing, research, and professional endeavors. Work as a team member with other professionals, serve on committees, pursue grant opportunities, and serve as an academic advisor.
Teaching, supervising field experiences in K-12 schools, committee work, academic advising, program reviews and development, report writing, and analysis of assessment data for program improvement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Possess strong knowledge and skills in assessing, diagnosing, and instructional planning for students with special needs. Possess knowledge and skills for teaching and preparing candidates for teacher certification. Experience with online learning and teaching. Experience in supervising candidates in field experiences and working with public/private K-12 campus educators. Must possess strong organizational skills, current technological skills, and a desire to develop innovative learning-teaching experiences and methods. Should be dedicated to excellence in teaching with a strong commitment to high professional standards both in and outside the classroom. The ability to write reports, develop grant projects, and to pursue scholarly endeavors is important.
An earned doctorate in special education from an accredited institution. Hold teaching credentials/certification in special education. Have three or more years of teaching experience in public/private K-12 school system in special education/general education with inclusion populations is required. Experience in university teaching, development of curriculum and pedagogy, and teacher training.
