Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics Section of Cardiology has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor. Pediatric Cardiologist with subspecialization in non-invasive imaging of the heart with specific skills in Three-Dimensional (3D) Echocardiography.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Echocardiography: (~ 3 days/week)
    • Interprets diagnostic echocardiograms in the inpatient, outpatient and operating room setting.
    • 3D echocardiography in interventional guidance, transthoracic and transesophageal 3D echo with post-process cropping abilities
  • Outpatient Cardiology:(1 day/week)
    • Evaluation and management of children with known or suspected heart disease.
  • Inpatient Cardiology: (~ 6-8 weeks/year)
    • Evaluation and management of hospitalized children with heart disease

PLEASE NOTE : Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology
  • Minimum of at least one additional year of training in non-invasive cardiac imaging/echocardiography
  • Background in 3D echocardiography is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of congenital heart disease anatomy, physiology and clinical implications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with a large team.
  • Desire to progress the clinical practice of pediatric cardiology and/or echocardiography (2D and 3D) through clinical investigation and research.
  • Ability to teach medical students, residents and fellows the essentials of pediatric cardiology and echocardiography.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to interpret at least 20 basic to complex echocardiograms per day.
  • Evaluate and manage at least 14 outpatient visits in a clinical day
  • Desire to teach cardiology fellows during clinic and in the echocardiography lab setting.
  • Ability to perform 3D echocardiography
