Job description

The Psychology Department at Rowan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Social Psychology to begin Fall 2018. Candidates will be expected to maintain an active program of research that is competitive for external funding as well as teach graduate and undergraduate courses. The minimum qualification for the position is a doctoral degree in social psychology or related degree. ABD at time of application will be considered; the candidate must have the Ph.D. awarded by Sept. 1, 2018. We seek candidates who have an established publication record of theoretically-based applied social psychological research to address important interpersonal and group dynamics, or individual biases and attitudes influenced by the actions, cognitions and decisions of the larger society. Candidates conducting research addressing health or health disparities are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have a commitment to involve students in research. In addition to our new graduate programs that includes a Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology with training in Health and Integrated Primary Care, the Department of Psychology offers a BA in Psychology, BS in Psychological Science, Concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, and a Minor in Neuroscience with Biological Sciences.
