Assistant Professor, Statistics and Business Analytics



Job description

Northwood University seeks a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills and a strong record of teaching at the undergraduate level to begin teaching in the Fall 2019 semester. Candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in Statistics and Business Analytics, including Statistics I and II, Introduction to Data Science, Data Mining and Modeling for Business Decisions and Predictive Analytics. Teaching load is four courses per semester. Candidate will also assist with curriculum development with the goal of integrating analytics across all majors. Additional responsibilities and expectations may include participation in on-going curriculum planning and review; research and scholarly activities; professional/instructional development; University committee activities; recruitment and retention activities; and other related duties as assigned.

Require: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics or closely-related field; experience teaching undergraduate courses in Statistics and Data Science; demonstrated experience applying analytic models in a business decision-making setting; ability to interact effectively with a wide and diverse range of students and colleagues; and well-developed oral and written communication skills in a variety of delivery formats.

Prefer: Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics or closely-related field. Candidates with a Master’s degree and 5 or more years of experience in a role which utilizes business analytics will be considered.
