The School of Nursing plays an important role in this mission. To educate new nurses that will serve their communities, we offer three tracks that lead to a BSN: traditional full-time track, part-time track, and a 100% online RN to BSN track. Each of these tracks is anchored in the caring sciences and our belief that nurses, patients, and the health-care system are dynamically interconnected.
We are inviting applications for faculty positions:

  • Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
  • Full-Time Lecturer

Individuals with the following expertise are encouraged to apply:

  • Statistics and Public Health
  • Mental Health Nursing
  • Generalists (Medical/Surgical) Nursing

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Nevada State College offers excellent benefits, including 14.50% retirement match, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and two health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts. Required Qualifications: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

  • Eligible for Nevada licensure
  • Evidence of effective teaching at the BSN level.
  • Record of scholarly and/or creative activities.
  • A doctorate is the terminal degree for tenure in Nursing at Nevada State College. A doctorate in Nursing (PhD) or related field (EdD) for tenure track positions is required
  • Nevada State College School of Nursing is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving success in higher education for first-generation and under-represented students

Required Qualifications: Lecturer

  • Eligible for Nevada licensure (for Mental Health and Generalist positions)
  • Three years of nursing clinical practice experience
  • Evidence of effective teaching at the BSN level
  • A Master’s of Science in Nursing, with preference given to MSN – Nurse Educator track or MPH for Statistics and Public Health applicants
  • Nevada State College School of Nursing is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving success in higher education for first-generation and under-represented students

Preferred Assistant Professor or Lecturer Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in curriculum development
  • Experience with clinical simulations
  • Certified Online Instructor
  • Evidence of teaching excellence at the college/university level
  • Active participation in professional organizations
