Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Elementary Education at the Assistant/Associate Professor classification. Candidates should have an earned doctorate degree in reading/elementary education or a related acceptable field from an accredited university. The candidates should have significant experience teaching students in K – 8 schools. A record of successful college or university teaching, including distance education teaching is preferred. This position requires primarily teaching reading and language arts classes to undergraduate students at various Southeastern campus sites. This position also includes advising students. Tenure track faculty members will be expected to provide evidence of effective classroom teaching, research/scholarship, and contributions to the institution and profession commensurate with rank.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, founded in 1909 as a teacher college, continues the strong tradition of producing outstanding educators for southeast Oklahoma and north Texas. Student enrollment on the campus(s) is approximately 4,200 and the campus is situated in rural Oklahoma. The main campus is located in Durant, Oklahoma, which is 80 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and 150 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The preferred start date is August 1, 2018, and may require multiple campus assignments as well as varied time and delivery methods.
