Job description

The College of Health Sciences at Tennessee State University invites applicants for the Associate Dean position. The successful applicant will be an innovative leader who will assist the Dean and work with the college leadership team in moving the College of Health Sciences forward through inter-professional collaboration, professional and community partnerships, academic excellence, and student success. A record of accomplishment in the areas of successful teaching, program administration, data analytics, strategic planning, curricular innovation, program growth, and partnership development will be important considerations in the selection of the Associate Dean.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
Earned academic doctorate in a health science (or related field) and academic credentials required for appointment as senior faculty.

A minimum of ten years of academic leadership experience at the department head level or above.

A minimum of 15 years postsecondary teaching experience.

Senior academic rank (Associate or Full Professor) with tenure.

Effective administrative skills.

Proficiency in written and verbal communication.

Superior interprofessional, collective and social skills.

Excellent data analytics skills.

Proven record of grantsmanship.

Experience with fostering community and university partnerships.

Demonstrated experience with program development.

Superior strategic planning experience creating and implementing strategic plans for educational programs.

Strong record of scholarly productivity.

Proven ability to implement and evaluate programs and counsel students and faculty.

Experience with institutional and/or professional accreditation.
