Jacksonville University seeks engaged, innovative, visionary leaders to apply for the position of Chair of the Department of Kinesiology located in the School of Applied Health Sciences (SAHS), Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences (BRCHS). This is a 12-month tenured/tenure-eligible position targeted to start May, 2019 (negotiable).

Therefore, our mission is to create and facilitate experiential learning, innovative discovery, and community engagement in physical activity, health and human performance to prepare competent life-long learners and to advance our discipline.

Successful applicants will have strong written and interpersonal communication skills required to lead the department, work collaboratively and effectively mentor faculty, staff and students in support of Jacksonville University’s mission and goals. The Chair candidate will provide visionary leadership to the Department and have documented success in administration, teaching, research/scholarship and service in higher education. Other responsibilities include oversight of budget, facilities and personnel and managing specialized programs and development projects. Salary and rank is negotiable and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Kinesiology or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
