Job description

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) is searching for a suitably qualified candidate to lead the journalism section for the English for Journalists professional training program at the Elieff Center in Sofia and teach undergraduate courses in journalism at the Blagoevgrad campus. This is a Balkan Scholar position (part-time for one year) starting in late August 2018. Teaching load is 4 courses per academic year. AUBG is a small residential liberal arts university, operating in English, located in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
(a) Master’s degree in journalism, mass communication, or related field and significant professional experience preferred, PhD a plus.
(b) Experience in journalism/media professional training;
(c) Experience teaching undergraduate journalism courses;
(d) Experience in American liberal arts-style education;
(e) A collegial disposition.
