COMMUNICATIONS AND PROGRAM MANAGER, Abdul Jameel World Water and Food Security Laboratory (J-WAFS), to carry out comprehensive communications strategies and program management duties. Communications/outreach duties include generating content and coordinating the production and distribution of digital and print communications; strategizing, coordinating, and carrying out communication and outreach around J-WAFS’ events/activities; developing and maintaining contact database; drafting reports; supporting the generation of proposals and presentations; tracking and reporting all major outcomes; copyediting and formatting documents/presentations; coordinating contract work; and drafting letters to donors and working with Resource Development on regular donor communication. Program management will include supporting the smooth operation of programs; coordinating meetings and associated logistics; supporting internal proposal processes; managing space, equipment, and other office management needs; processing appointments and visa paperwork; ordering supplies; and supporting various projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; minimum of four years’ experience showing growing level of communications and program management responsibilities, preferably in an academic, international, or multisector partnership context; initiative; exceptional writing, editing, and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; proficiency with MS Office, FileMaker, and desktop publishing software (Adobe Photoshop InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Illustrator); ability to develop clear, concise, accurate, and timely reports in professional format; comfort working with collaborators from different cultures and backgrounds; discretion with confidential information; comfort working in a highly transparent fashion, open to input and feedback; and willingness to perform a variety of support activities as needed. Must be able to prioritize; manage critical time demands, interruptions, and requests with short deadlines; proactively resolve problems; and function independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a small team. Graduate and/or MIT experience a plus. Experience with MailChip and Drupal preferred.

Occasional international travel may be required.
