Department Summary:
The Department of Physics at Bridgewater State University seeks a non-tenure track assistant professor for duties in the 2018-2019 academic year. The department is seeking an outstanding physicist who will bring novel perspectives and insights to students through teaching upper level physics courses, including Modern Physics with Lab, and Experimental Physics. The Department of Physics has excellent lab space in the $98M Dana Mohler-Faria Science Building and has approximately 60 majors, graduating 8 to 10 majors per year, with recent students attending graduate study at top schools in biophysics, particle physics, astronomy and general relativity.

Essential Duties:
The successful candidate will be a dedicated and passionate teacher who will teach 12 contact hours per semester throughout the undergraduate curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates who will also contribute to department culture and student research experiences in our existing single molecule biophysics lab or our atomic, molecular and optical lab where students are constructing a MOT.

Alternately, preference will be given to a candidate who can assist in the development of a new photonics engineering program.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Physics required.

Teaching experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Physics preferred.
