Our School focus is very much on an integrated and holistic project delivery, and the development of an enterprising student mind-set. Our holistic approach to student development is reflected in the support we offer our students, not only to succeed in their studies but also to take advantage of a wide-range of extra-curricular opportunities. We are very good at what we do.  We are the first institution to offer RICS accredited courses in the UK.  We are one of the first Built Environment Schools to run the Trailblazer Higher and Degree Apprenticeship (Quantity Surveying and Building Surveying). We are seeking to appoint a Director of Education and Student Experience who will have overall responsibility for all aspects of taught provision within the School, the quality of the teaching, the student experience (including the NSS and PTES), progression, retention and employability.

The post calls for a creative academic leader who is results focused and metrics driven, but with the student experience at the core of everything they do. If this sounds like you, let us tell you more about what your new role will involve.

You will be a member of the School Executive Team, you will contribute to the design and development of the School’s strategy, in particular leading on the educational components, and ensure that the strategy is articulated as a local delivery plan that all staff understand, are engaged with, and are contributing to. You will be responsible for driving the School forward and developing teams of staff to ensure that the School achieves its student experience targets, and introducing School-wide initiatives where appropriate, as well as developing mechanisms for enhancing the quality of the teaching and of the student experience. A key part of the role will be ambassadorial as you develop the School’s external profile and create connections which will add value to the student experience.

You will have a background in leading on the successful delivery of teaching and learning, and portfolio development within a Construction and Built Environment-related discipline. You will have already developed a track record for driving up key metrics such as NSS and DLHE within your current role and will have the demonstrable ability to plan, lead on, and deliver on a strategic vision for teaching and learning for the School.
