School of The Built Environment and Architecture
The School of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University is one of the largest Built Environment School in the UK, and offers courses across a wide range of disciplines, from Architecture, Construction, Property, Real Estate, and Surveying, through to Civil Engineering, and Building Service Engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

We are seeking to appoint a Director of Education and Student Experience who will have overall responsibility for all aspects of taught provision within the School, the quality of the teaching, the student experience (including the NSS and PTES), progression, retention and employability.

You will be a member of the School Executive Team, you will contribute to the design and development of the School’s strategy, in particular leading on the educational components, and ensure that the strategy is articulated as a local delivery plan that all staff understand, are engaged with, and are contributing to. You will be responsible for driving the School forward and developing teams of staff to ensure that the School achieves its student experience targets, and introducing School-wide initiatives where appropriate, as well as developing mechanisms for enhancing the quality of the teaching and of the student experience. A key part of the role will be ambassadorial as you develop the School’s external profile and create connections which will add value to the student experience.
You will have a background in leading on the successful delivery of teaching and learning, and portfolio development within a Construction and Built Environment-related discipline. You will have already developed a track record for driving up key metrics such as NSS and DLHE within your current role and will have the demonstrable ability to plan, lead on, and deliver on a strategic vision for teaching and learning for the School.
