The Department of English at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of English beginning August 1, 2019. This is a tenure track position. Charleston Southern seeks candidates who are professing Christians, committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.
Qualifications: A. Ph.D. in English with evidence of excellence in teaching and potential for scholarly activity; preference is for American Literature candidates with additional specialty in Rhetoric/Composition.
Responsibilities: Teaching assignments may include freshman composition and sophomore literature courses with occasional upper-level courses. Faculty members are also called upon to participate in academic advising, serve on committees and engage in service and scholarly activities.
