Job description

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) invites applications for one full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position. The HDFS Department consists of 11.78 full-time positions serving 350 students in the Human Development and Family Studies undergraduate program and 25 graduate students in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. The anticipated start date is August 2018.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum / Required

  • Doctorate (or ABD if doctorate is conferred by 8/20/18) in Child Development, Human Development, or closely related field

Preferred

  • Demonstrated achievement or strong potential in teaching excellence at the collegiate level is desirable

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Human Development and Child Development within a Family Studies framework; engaging in scholarly activities and research; advisement for undergraduate students; assessment of student learning; integrating diversity in courses; participation in service/committee work at the department, college and university levels; active involvement in professional organizations (e.g. NCFR, SRCD, NAEYC), and supporting a culture of respect, civility and collegiality.
