Job description

North Central College, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, is seeking applications and nominations for a faculty member to teach in the Masters of Occupational Therapy program in the Department of Kinesiology in the School of Education and Health Sciences. This position is a non-tenure track, ongoing, 12-month open rank role (rank will be determined based on experience) with a start date of August 2019. The successful candidate is responsible for teaching, research, collaborating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Master of Occupational Therapy Program with primary course assignments in the areas of adult rehabilitation and treatment. Participation in recruitment, retention and admission activities and program committee work, program accreditation, and other tasks as assigned by the Program Director is also expected.

The School builds connections between the College’s liberal arts-based foundation and academic majors. All undergraduate and graduate programs in the School prepare students to contend with a constantly evolving professional environment by developing skills in critical thinking, communication and problem solving through experiential and applied learning. All students are expected to develop competency in intercultural effectiveness, research skills and the implementation of evidence-based best practices. Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (e.g., PhD, DSc, EdD, DHS, DOT);
  • Current Illinois licensure or eligibility;
  • Teaching at the collegiate level;
  • Experience teaching in an online or blended format;
  • Clinical experience in adult rehabilitation;
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship/creative work.
