Basic Function:
The Department of Accounting at Kent State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level.

Examples of Duties:Participation in the Ph.D. program will be part of the faculty member’s responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:Candidates must have (1) completed or nearly completed a doctoral degree in Accounting; (2) exhibit potential for publishing in top academic journals, and (3) provide evidence of effective teaching.

Professional certification is highly desirable.

Candidates in all areas of research and teaching interest will be considered, with emphasis on financial accounting and auditing.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.

The area is known for a low cost of living and a high quality of live. Our residential campus in Kent draws a large undergraduate population (approximately 28,000), whilel the eight-campus system serves approximately 40,000 students. The College of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB International. The Department of Accounting holds separate AACSB accoutning accreditation as well. We are in the design stage of building a new, state-of-the-art College of Business administration building to support our research, teaching, and service goals. The college is designated as one of the nation’s most outstanding business schools by the Princeton review. The Department of Accounting has an undergraduate accounting program, a Master of Science in Accounting program and a Ph.D. program in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. The College of Business Administration currently subscribes to WRDS, COMPUSTAT, CRSP, and a variety of datasets commonly used in business and accounting research, as well as a bloomberg terminal.
