The Computer Science Department at Seattle University invites applications for one full-time, multi-year, renewable, non-tenure-track Instructor position, as well a full-time one-year Lecturer position, both beginning in September 2018.
Responsibilities for both Instructor and Lecturer position will include teaching in our computer science undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs, and directing student projects. Instructors have an additional responsibility of service to the department and college.
Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to effective teaching and mentoring. Successful candidates should demonstrate a genuine desire to contribute to the mission of Seattle University.
The Computer Science Department offers undergraduate and master’s degrees in Computer Science, and a graduate certificate in Computer Science Fundamentals. The department has strong relationships with many local companies, including the leading technology companies headquartered nearby.
- Minimum Qualification for both Instructor and Lecturer Positions: M.S. in computer science or closely related discipline, and teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Preferred Qualification for both Instructor and Lecturer Positions: Ph.D. in computer science or closely related discipline, and teaching experience with evidence of teaching effectiveness, and an interest in teaching graduate courses.
