The College of Medicine (COM), Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases is looking for an Instructor of Clinical Medicine. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

Duties for the Instructor of Clinical Medicine in IM-Infectious Diseases will include contributing to the clinical/patient care, research and teaching missions of the division. Clinical/patient care responsibilities will include coordinated clinical and research activities with the Bone Marrow transplant, renal, pancreas, liver and cardiac transplant services, and general infectious disease consultations. Duties will also encompass an active role in departmental fellowship programs, resident and medical student teaching. Teaching duties will include precepting of fellows, medical students and/or residents in one’s office-based practice as well as providing lectures or leading small group discussions as part of the COM or residency curriculum, clinical case conferences, core curricula and journal club. Research will focus on health and outcomes research in bone marrow, renal, pancreas, liver, and cardiac transplant and it is expected that research findings will be presented at the local, regional, and national levels.

Minimum Qualifications: Prior to effective date of appointment, applicant must: have an M.D.; have completed a 3-year Internal Medicine Residency; Board Certification in Internal Medicine; have completed a 2-year Infectious Diseases Fellowship; Board Eligibility in Infectious Diseases, which is defined as completion of the aforementioned 2-year Infectious Diseases Fellowship and Board Certification in Internal Medicine; and,an Ohio Medical License.
