Job Description Summary
The University invites applications for a full-time, temporary position in Special Education for Spring 2019, beginning January 5, 2019 and ending May 24, 2019.
The successful candidate will teach coursework within the Department of Special Education. These courses support the special education dual majors, other education majors, and disability and community service majors.
The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours of coursework in the spring, maintain office hours as specified by the CBA, fulfill departmental responsibilities as assigned, and participate in University functions.
Minimum Qualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years special education teaching experience at the K-12 level in the United States; demonstrated expertise in special education; and a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
- The successful candidate must be able to communicate well and/or perform well in an interview or teaching demonstration and successfully complete the interview process.
Doctorate Degree in Special Education from an accredited University, college teaching experience, experience with diverse populations, experience working with assistive technology, experience working with community agencies who serve individuals with disabilities.

Terminal degree is required for appointment as Assistant Professor; without the terminal degree, candidate will be appointed as Instructor.
