Intermediate Math Developer



Job description

The Intermediate Math Developer coordinates the evaluation, revision and development of intermediate mathematics courses. This position has instructional responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Master’s Degree + 18 graduate hours in mathematics


  • 3 or more years teaching experience in mathematics at the secondary or college level
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Essential Duties

  • Evaluates intermediate mathematics courses
  • Develops intermediate mathematics curriculum
  • Teaches a progressively increasing courseload of intermediate mathematics courses
  • Collaborates with mathematics faculty to modify course materials and pedagogy
  • Monitors math placement exam results
  • Keeps current on and implements innovative and best instructional practices
  • Maintain regular on-campus office hours to include time in the mathematics lab
  • Meets regularly with the program director
  • Leads designated intermediate math recitation sections
  • Maintains a working knowledge of current departmental instructional software (including Canvas, Hawkes, etc.). Recommends additional software adoptions if needed based on assessment of student outcomes.
  • Serves on departmental and university committees as assigned by supervisors
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned
