The Department of French and Italian is seeking an Assistant Professor in Italian for a continuing full-time position, to begin September 1, 2019. PhD in hand by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be part of an energetic department committed to providing the best education possible to a diverse and talented undergraduate student body. The specialization is open, however, we are particularly interested in individuals with considerable experience in language instruction and teaching/research expertise in Italian culture across the centuries, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: film studies, eco-criticism, and Digital Humanities. This is a non-tenured and non-tenurable full-time position, with a teaching load of five courses per year, at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.
