Working arrangements: The role is full time but we will consider requests for flexible working arrangements including potential job shares

Start Date: Successful candidates will ideally be in post by 1 October 2018

This role is full-time and fixed term from 1 October 2018 – 31 August 2020.

The Department of History at Durham University invites applications from outstanding candidates for the post of Lecturer in United States History (fixed-term).

Applicants must demonstrate research excellence in the field of United States History, with the ability to teach our students to an exceptional standard and to fully engage in the services, citizenship and values of the University.

The role is available for a fixed term until 31 August 2020 to provide bridging cover within the Department.

The post-holder will be responsible to the Head of Department, currently Professor Sarah Davies.

Successful applicants will, ideally, be in post by 1 October 2018. It is not anticipated that this period would be extended beyond the initial fixed term.
