Job description

A probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor is available in the Department of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the Marshfield Site located at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI. The department seeks a dynamic candidate with expertise in medical-surgical nursing who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintaining an active program of scholarship involving undergraduates. This appointment carries an initial two-year probationary appointment. Preferred start date is January 2018, though position will remain open until filled.


  • Earned doctorate in the area of nursing or related field by January 2018. (ABD applicants may be considered but must complete the terminal degree by January 2018).
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Evidence of successful university teaching, [example: knowledge and skills in educational technology, formal and informal assessment practices, classroom management]; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness; and current practice experience.

DUTIES: Teach courses in the Department of Nursing based on program needs and in accordance with specialization; participate in research and scholarly activities [develop and/or maintain a program of research/scholarship]; provide academic advising to students as assigned; engage in service to the department, university and profession.

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Nursing offers BSN, BSN completion, MSN, and DNP programs of study.< /p>
