Job description

The Early, Elementary, and Reading Education Department within the College of Education at James Madison University invites applications for a one-year Instructor position in Reading Education beginning August 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reading Instructors at JMU fulfill needs in the following areas: teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in reading/literacy; fulfilling program, department and college level service and working collaboratively in and outside the university. Faculty members in Reading teach courses to students in programs that include but are not limited to Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle Education and Secondary Education, including Special Education, School Psychology, and Art, Music and Physical Education.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have an earned master’s degree in Reading or Literacy Education and have teaching experience in P-12 schools, with teaching in higher education a plus.

Pay Rate: Commensurate with Experience
