GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
Accurately and consistently score students’ submissions for professional communication and writing skills, using a clear understanding of the writing competency categories of organization, sentence fluency, word choice, parts of speech, and conventions.
Provide robust feedback to students on each scoring event in addition to identifying inaccurate writing concerns within the work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete all scoring in assigned area accurately and consistently, based upon available student work.
Include robust feedback for students on every scoring event.
Communicate and interact with all University students and personnel in a professional manner.
Actively participate in meetings as outlined by the Evaluation Associate Provost, Evaluation Delivery Director, Evaluation Delivery Manager, and/or Evaluation Supervisor.
Assist as a Subject Matter Expert in the development and maintenance of assessments upon request at the option of the evaluator.
Assist with scoring efforts in other areas for which qualified when needed.
Abide by policies and procedures to maintain compliance with FERPA regulations.
Abide by policies established by the WGU Human Resources department.
Notify Evaluation Supervisor of planned absences ahead of time. Two weeks of notice is expected for extended time away (longer than 48 hours) so that adequate coverage can be arranged to ensure scoring.
Satisfactorily perform other duties as assigned.
This is a part-time work from home position with the following flexible schedule:
20-28 hours per week.
At least 5 days worked each week, includes some weekend work.
Typically 5 days worked each week, includes some weekend work
Complete evaluations in one work session (plan 1-2 hour work sessions)
Understanding and appreciation of competency-based education model.
Fluent use of educational technological platforms and common office software packages
Must be able to spend significant time working at a computer.

Able to explain critique of students writing proficiently and effectively
Minimum earned master degree in a field related to English, Literature, Communications or Media Studies.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a field related to English, Literature, Communications or Media Studies.
