Position Description

The Department of Classical and Modern Languages anticipates part-time lecturer (PTL) openings in French and Spanish for the summer ’18, fall ’18, and spring ’19 semesters. The successful candidate will teach either first (121), second (122), or third (123) semester French or Spanish. Candidates must demonstrate near-native fluency in French or Spanish, and English. An understanding of modern communicative approaches to language teaching and high-impact teaching practices, including integrated performance assessment and task-based proficiency-oriented instruction is highly desirable.

Preferred qualifications include: MA in French or Spanish or closely related field, prior experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching French or Spanish to college-level learners, experience with current classroom technologies and online learning platforms.
