The Accounting, Finance and Governance Department (AFG) is one of the largest teaching departments in the Business school. It has a vibrant, inclusive and dynamic work culture with staff actively engaged in research and teaching activities. The Department comprises of academic experts offering a range of successful academic programmes (at both UG and PG levels). To underpin this level of professionalism, in accounting we are an ACCA Gold level approved learning partner, recognized internationally for the quality of tuition and support. In finance, we are a Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment Education partner and a Centre of Excellence. The professional body has recognized us for leadership abilities in academic excellence on financial markets. Teaching and research is supported with the Bloomberg platform and trading terminals in our purpose built global capital markets studio.

Department members are concentrated within the Finance and Financial Services Research Cluster (CFFS). Staff have published in a range of leading international journals.

We seek an ambitious Reader in Finance with an outstanding record of research outputs and publication. You will provide research leadership, teaching and academic enterprise, while supporting the achievement of our strategic objectives, across both our department and the Business School as a whole. You will be expected to make a significant impact by supporting our research culture, expertise and themes to increase research outputs at an internationally recognised level.

You will have a strong research publication portfolio of internationally-leading quality in the field of finance – alongside the commitment to provide support and mentoring to our established teams at the Business School. It is essential that you bring a proven track record in income generation from public and/or commercial sources
