Job description

Qualification and Experience

The successful candidate must possess a Higher (Master’s level) Degree in one of the following areas:

  • Epidemiology
  • Biostatistics
  • Social Sciences

with considerable experience developing the capacity of health professionals through the conduct of research training workshops and providing support to design research studies, conduct statistical analyses and prepare manuscripts

The successful candidate must also possess:

  • Expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
  • Proficiency in the use of statistical software such as SPSS
  • Experience in grant writing
  • Familiarity with health policy and systems research
  • Track record of working on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with Caribbean health research systems

Special Responsibilities

  • Promoting, supporting and actively facilitating the strengthening of the research system in the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS)
  • Conducting research methodology and data analysis workshops
  • Preparing grant proposals
  • Conducting data analyses
  • Preparing research reports and manuscripts for publication
  • Working collaboratively with other researchers within and outside the FMS
