The Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder anticipates hiring a half-time Scholar-in-Residence to support the University of Colorado Real Estate Center’s Technology Initiative. The Real Estate Technology Initiative was created for three reasons: (1) to investigate the short-, medium-, and long-run effects that technology will likely have on residential and commercial real estate; (2) to communicate this information to real estate students at the University of Colorado; and (3) to give current students the technology skills necessary so they can immediately add value for their potential employers. The primary responsibilities for this position are to create courses for undergraduate and graduate students on the impact that technology has on the real estate industry; to promote the technology initiative to potential students and to firms likely to hire our students; and to conduct research on the effects that technology will likely have on real estate.
The formal teaching assignment will initially be one course per year. The teaching assignment will likely increase to two courses per year as the student demand for this material increases. The position will also require extensive travel to technology conferences, to real estate conferences and to companies that both develop and utilize real estate technology in their business. Additional contributions may include guest lectures and presentations describing the real estate technology initiative.
The three-year appointment may begin as soon as January 1, 2018.
An advanced degree in business or technology is normally required
