Job description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado has an opening for a .92 faculty position at the rank of Instructor. This position will primarily be placed at our downtown location but will also serve as the floater sonographer for our freestanding prenatal diagnostic centers, located in Parker and Littleton, reporting to the Director of the Centers. With reporting to directly to the Practice Manager and indirectly to the Medical directors of the centers and Division Administrator.

The duties of this position will include performing independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations on obstetrical patients who will be subsequently evaluated and treated by an attending physician, preparing preliminary reports for physician review, and verifying data obtained from the sonogram. As needed, you may train staff in the retrieval of records in order to facilitate requests from referring physicians. You will work cooperatively with the Director, perinatologists, other sonographers, and the administrative staff of the Center to ensure high patient and referring physician satisfaction.

This position will include administrative duties for managing the data and reports obtained, ensuring that the data is adequately stored and trouble-shooting equipment problems.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an accredited sonography program. Applicant must be a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. 4-6 years of progressively responsible sonography experience in an outpatient obstetrics setting is preferred.
