Join a spacecraft systems engineering team at LASP that is developing the hardware and software for a unique deep space mission in a highly creative and collaborative environment.
Team member will join the small spacecraft systems engineering team working on design, analysis, fault protection, spec review, test procedure development, integration, test, design verification, and operations for an upcoming deep space mission as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. Please note that this position has a strong teaching/mentoring component and requires occasional international travel.
Applicant must have a strong systems engineering background with in-depth knowledge of and experience with spacecraft, including an intimate understanding of the interplay between all spacecraft subsystems, spacecraft to ground, spacecraft to instrument, and spacecraft to launch vehicle interfaces. Strong team leadership skills, the ability to work independently, and good organization and project management skills are required. Must be able to work in a dynamic and fluid team environment and be enthusiastic about mentoring students and junior engineers.
