Duties and Responsibilities
Direct university marching band program in the fall semester, concert band program in the spring. Teach instrumental Music Education classes and conducting. Ability to teach wind instruments is desirable. Teach Music Appreciation class if needed. Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Education:
Earned master’s degree in wind conducting or music education with demonstrated teaching experience.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications:
K-12 teaching licensure
Some experience in secondary school teaching desirable, as is teaching at the post-secondary level, even as an adjunct.
Doctorate (or ABD) in wind conducting or music education strongly preferred, but will consider applicants with an earned master’s degree in wind conducting or music education with demonstrated teaching experience.
Some nights and weekends will be required.
**This is a full-time position, renewable annually for up to three years. This position is outside tenure-track status but may convert to a tenure-track position in the future. If converted, then prior years of service may count for tenure and promotion.**
