Job Description

The Ohio University Department of Classics and World Religions is seeking a committed teacher for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position. This position is renewable annually for up to three years based upon performance, departmental need, and available funding. The successful candidate would teach courses in ancient archaeology (mainly Roman) at all undergraduate levels, Classical mythology, and beginning and intermediate Latin. Teaching load is 3/3.

Minimum Qualifications

ABD in Classics, Ancient History, or Classical Archaeology.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Classics, Ancient History, or Classical Archaeology with experience teaching archaeology courses

Pay Rate:

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Faculty members also enjoy a generous benefits package which includes health benefits, paid time off, and education benefits for both the employee and his or her eligible dependents.
