Job description

The Department of Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics (CIS & BSAN) in the College of Business at James Madison University is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor for a one-year appointment beginning in Fall 2018.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary teaching responsibility will be an introductory management science course that covers linear optimization, decision analysis, queuing, regression, time series forecasting, and simulation. Normal course load is four 3-credit courses per semester during the regular academic year.


A PhD or ABD in management science, operations research, decision sciences, or a closely related field with a strong foundation in business applications is required. Special consideration will be given to candidates with teaching and industry experience in developing analytics solutions using technical domain knowledge and business context. Demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness with excellent communication skills is required.

Pay Rate: Commensurate with Experience
